Cervix Biopsy
A cervix biopsy is sometimes taken in the case of vaginosis being present, or if ones partner has a penile wart.
The sample tissue is sent to the laboratory for examination as an aid in diagnosis in the process of investigation of cervical diseases or exploratory reasons such as infertility. Defined as a procedure involving the removal of tissue from the lower third of the uterus.

Previous bleeding disorders or drug usage such as anticoagulants or aspirin or post surgical excessive bleeding or surgical-wound infection are associated complications. The process entails local anesthesia, a speculum inserted into the vaginal orifice to allow observation, a second instrument for sample collection and finally instrument removal.
