Conization Of Cervix
A conization of cervix tissue, or of vulvar tissue due to lichen sclerosis, is a common treatment.
The procedure is used for the definite diagnosis of squamous or glandular intraepithelial lesions, for excluding microinvasive carcinomas, and for treatment of CIN. The term is referred to excision of a cone-shaped wedge from the uteri that includes the transformation zone and all or a portion of the endocervical canal.

But the benefits of using laser may not justify its high cost. It doesn’t require general anesthesia. LEEP procedures are known for rapidity, preservation of the margins, and virtual bloodlessness. The procedure is performed with a scalpel (cold-knife), laser, or electrosurgical loop (LEEP or LLETZ).
