Colposcopy Exam
A colposcopy exam may include cryosurgery or a LEEP procedure of the affected area.
During this appointment the doctor will put an acidic mixture on the female’s cervix and then view it using a colposcope. With the acid on the tissue, any abnormal areas will appear white and from those areas that biopsies will be taken.
