Colposcopy Instrumentation
Colposcopy instrumentation is used to enhance the view of the genital wart or other HPV conditions of the cervix.
Using this instrument with the abnormal areas observable by the light, a large needle or small biopsy forceps are then used to remove small tissue samples from the abnormal areas. These samples are then further examined by a lab using a high-powered microscope.

A colposcope is the instrument used to view the cervix during this exam. It’s an electrical microscope that has a light on it that shines on the cervix so it can be seen and the light also causes the abnormal areas to appear white under the vinegar solution. Colposcopy instrumentation is used to enhance the view of the genital wart or other HPV conditions of the cervix.
