Cone Biopsy
A cone biopsy is a surgical procedure more radical than cryotherapy or cryosurgery.
The cervical conization is usually recommended on women with moderate or severe cases of cervical dysplasia, since it is a more invasive procedure. With this procedure the abnormal areas on the surface of the cervix and part of the canal are removed and then examined for cancer cells.

This procedure is done under an anesthetic and usually at the local hospital. This procedure on average takes about an hour.
