Leap Cone Biopsy
The leap cone biopsy is used to treat and diagnose HPV, and is in conjunction with a colposcopy.
During Loop Excision a fine wire with electrical energy flowing through it is used. The removed tisue is send to the laboratory for examination. The operation is usually done under local or general anesthesia and causes little discomfort, though some bleeding and itching afterwards is possible.
The leap cone biopsy is used to treat and diagnose HPV, and is in conjunction with a colposcopy.

Loop Excision is another name for "LLETZ" or "LEEP," the procedure for removing abnormal areas of the cervix. It can treat and diagnose cervical dysplasia at the same time, often replacing cone biopsy. This procedure may be done during the initial colposcopy exam. The leap cone biopsy is used to treat and diagnose HPV, and is in conjunction with a colposcopy.
